This item could not be Crawled because the Repository did not Respond within the Specified Timeout Period

This item could not be crawled because the repository did not respond within the specified timeout period.

Have you always face time out issue in SharePoint 2013 environment while searching for items. There is a fair chance the time out option is to modified in search service application.

 

Following are the steps that we have used to resolve our issue.

1. Naviagate to central administration
2. Find the Manage service Applications
3. Click on Search service application.
4. Select farm search administration 
5. Click on Time out seconds and change.
