Cannot Complete This Action as the Secure Store Shared Service is not Responding

Cannot complete this action as the secure store shared service is not responding. Please contact your administrator.

Once you configure your secure store service, when you try to open it " you may get the error message "Cannot complete this action as the Secure Store Shared Service is not responding. Please contact your administrator"

 

In order to resolve this, please do the following steps

1. select “ Manage services on server”. under application management
2. Stop and start the “Secure store service” .
3. Open   “Inetmgr” and select “SecurityTokenServiceApplicationPool” and do restart.
4. Perform IIS reset.
