In this article, I will share the steps to create a View in SharePoint list. We have already gone through how to create a list and their features.
SharePoint list
- The SharePoint List is a collection of information where we can share the information to our team members.
- A SharePoint list is used to store the data.
- We can customize the list easily. Also, we can set the permission to each list for different users.
- We can show a list in web part pages as List View Web Parts
- Each SharePoint list allows the below operations.
- Add
- Edit
- Delete
SharePoint List View
- SharePoint list view is used to show/hide the column based on our needs.
- We can perform the sorting and filtering using Views.
- Item limit option is available in Views.
- Audience option is also available in SP List Views (Select the option that represents the intended audience for this View).
Steps to create a View.
Follow the below steps to create View in SP List.
Step 1
Open your SharePoint site.
Step 2
Click on the site content which will redirect you to the "View all site content" page, as shown below.

Then, select your list where you want to create a new View.
Step 4
Open the “List” option from the top ribbon bar and select “List Settings”, as shown below.

On the List Settings page, you can see the option to create the View.

Click on the "Create View" option, as shown in below.

Then, select the View template as per your need and also, you can customize the View using SP designer. Here, I am selecting the datasheet View as per my need.

Then, provide the name for the View. If you want to make this View as default, click on the “Make this the default view” checkbox.

Finally, click OK after you made all the changes in the View as per your need.
A new custom View has been created in your SharePoint List successfully.
