How to Change Product Key on Windows

Introduction

In this article you will learn how to change the Product Key of your system.

If you are using any version of Windows, whether it's Windows XP, 7, 8, Windows Server 2008 or 2012 and you don't have the complete license for your Windows then you will not be allowed to use the product after a period of time.

Microsoft allows users to access its products and that's even without a license but these products are allowed to be used for only a few days or for a few months before the product will stop working and will ask you to purchase the license. Even Windows is allowed to be used by new users but these Windows come with a Product Key that will expire in a few months.

You can install Windows on your system but to activate it you will need an activation key that will be provided to you only after purchasing the Licence.

Now a problem occurs that if you are using any product or even if you had installed Windows then it's obvious that you will start working on it and you might have installed additional software's on it that you need, so now you will not like that your Windows stops working and you will try your best to get it working by using any Key available anywhere but how can you change the Key? You need to use the following procedure to do it.

Step 1

If you are using Windows Server 2012 or Windows 8 then right-click on the extreme left hand corner of you screen and click on "Run". Otherwise simply go to the Start Menu and click on "Run".
