Introduction
In my previous article I explained How to Create One Way Incoming Realm Trust.
In this article I will create a one way Outgoing Realm Trust for one side of the trust.
Step 1
First of all open the Administrative Tools from the Start menu.
In the Administrative Tools Wizard a list of Installed Items will be available, here an option will be available named Active Directory Domains and Trusts, double-click on it to open it.
Now the Active Directory Domains and Trust Wizard will be opened, here the Domain Node will be available on the left hand side in the ADDT Pane.
Step 2
Right-click on the Domain Node and click on it's Properties.
Now the Property Window will be opened, here by default the General tab will be opened.
Step 3
Click on the "Trusts" Tab beside the General Tab and then click on the "New Trust" Tab.
Now the New Trust Wizard will be opened, here first some information about the Trust will be provided, click on the "Next" tab to start adding the trust.
Step 4
On the next page provide the name for the trust and then click on the "Next" button.
On the next page you need to select the Type of trust, click on the first option to choose "Realm Trust".
Step 5
On the next page you will be asked to select one of the options for "Trust Transitivity", click on the first option, in other words "Non Transitivity"; this will cerate a Trusted Relation between the domain and the specified realm.
The next page is for the Direction of the trust, click on the third option, in other words "One Way Outgoing", this will authenticate the users in the specified domain, forest or realm.
Step 6
Provide a password to confirm the relationship, confirm your password and then click on the "Next" button.
Now a brief description of your selection process will be shown to you, click on the "Next" button to reach the final page of the process.
The final page will just ask for the Final Confirmation and you can provide that by clicking on the "Finish" button.
