Defect Reporting: Report Defect list, after finding a defect within module/project. It may report on Reporting tool or Excel and assign to Developer or Project managers.
Defect Report Format on Excel:
- Defect #: A Sequence number of defect.
- Reported Date: Enter defect Submission date.
- Status: New / Open/Reopen/ Close
- Severity: High / Medium / Low
- Priority: High / Medium / Low
- References/URL: Enter URL/ References where this defect found.
- Defect Description: Enter Detail description of bug.
- Method of Operation: Enter the steps simulating the bug.
- Defect Category: Enter Type of defect.
- Resolved by: Enter the name of the person who has been responsible for bug-fixing.
- Reported by: Enter the name of the person who Track the bug.
- Assign to: Name of PM
- Resolved on: Date of solving
- Remarks: Enter the comment
Defect Report Format on Reporting Tool (Team Web Access):
- Title: Enter Defect Summary.
- Status:
- Assigned To: Name of PM
- State: Active/Resolved/Reopen/ Close
- Reason: Verified/Not fixed/Test failed (According to State)
- Severity: Critical/ High / Medium / Low
- Priority: 1,2,3,4
- Detail: Enter Detail description of bug.
- Test Case: detail description with expected/actual result.
- Links: Add new linked work item which is related to other bug
- Attachment: Add screen shots & related documents.

Hi Divya good evening This is not a correct way to posting the defect..............? 1. Why defect Assigned To PM directly......? 2. Why Tester providing the Priority.............? 3. While posting the defect status should be new right……?(why tester return the status) Regards Lakshmipathi.G
