OpenAI Launches 'Deep Research' for In-Depth Analysis
OpenAI has introduced a new tool called "deep research," designed to help users conduct thorough, complex research in areas such as finance, science, policy, and engineering. It can also assist in making well-researched decisions for large purchases like cars and appliances.
Initially for Pro Users, Expansion Planned
The deep research feature is currently available to ChatGPT Pro users, allowing 100 queries per month. There are plans to roll it out to Plus, Team, and Enterprise users soon, with significantly higher query limits expected in the near future.
Powered by o3 Model for Enhanced Web Research
The tool is powered by OpenAI’s o3 model, which has been trained to excel at web browsing, data analysis, and handling large amounts of text and user-uploaded files. The model is designed to analyze multiple sources to provide detailed, reliable research.
Text-Based Responses Now, Visuals Coming Soon
At present, deep research provides only text-based responses, but OpenAI plans to introduce images, charts, and other visual data outputs soon. Although accurate, the tool may still make occasional errors, and improvements are ongoing to enhance its reliability.
