Apple Intelligence Announced

Apple announced a new personal intelligence system called Apple Intelligence. It will be available on iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and iPad and Mac with M1 chip or later. Apple Intelligence uses generative models to understand and create language, take action across apps, and draw from personal context to simplify and accelerate everyday tasks.

Here are the key features of Apple Intelligence:

  • Writing Tools: rewrite, proofread, and summarize text.
  • Priority Messages: surface the most important emails.
  • Priority Notifications: surface what’s most important.
  • Reduce Interruptions Focus: surfaces only the notifications that might need immediate attention.
  • Image Playground: create fun images in seconds.
  • Genmoji: create an original emoji to express yourself.
  • Improved Photos Search: allows you to search for photos and videos using natural language.
  • Memories: create a movie with a storyline and narrative arc from your photos and videos.
  • Siri improvements: more natural, more contextually relevant, and more personal. Siri can now take hundreds of new actions in and across apps.

Apple Intelligence also integrates access to ChatGPT, a large language model chatbot developed by OpenAI. You can use ChatGPT to generate content, translate languages, write different kinds of creative content, and answer your questions in an informative way.

Apple Intelligence is committed to privacy. On-device processing is a cornerstone of Apple Intelligence, and many of the models that power it run entirely on device. Private Cloud Compute extends the privacy and security of Apple devices into the cloud to unlock even more intelligence.
