Apple has unveiled new developer betas for iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, and macOS Sequoia 15.2, introducing a suite of innovative features under the Apple Intelligence umbrella. Notable additions include Genmoji, Image Playground, Visual Intelligence, Image Wand, and integration with ChatGPT.
These updates come just ahead of the public release of iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1, which will introduce enhanced writing tools, image cleanup capabilities, article summarization, and a revamped typing input for Siri.
Developers will also benefit from new APIs for three key Apple Intelligence features: the Writing Tools API, Genmoji API, and Image Playground API. These tools are designed to facilitate the integration of Apple's generative AI capabilities into third-party applications.
Additionally, the latest developer updates expand language localization support—currently limited to English - adding Australian, Canadian, New Zealand, South African, and U.K. variants alongside U.S. English. Future updates are expected to include support for languages such as Chinese, English (India), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, and Vietnamese in the coming year. However, users in China and the EU may face restrictions on accessing Apple Intelligence features due to regulatory challenges.
This rollout marks a significant step forward in enhancing user experience across Apple devices by leveraging advanced AI technologies while maintaining a focus on privacy and security.
