Character AI, a platform that lets users chat with AI-powered characters, is introducing games to its desktop and mobile web apps as part of its efforts to make the platform more engaging.
The games, currently available to paid subscribers and a limited number of free users, include Speakeasy and War of Words. Users can access these games by tapping on a new controller icon in the chat interface. To ensure conversations remain intact, the app prompts users to start a new chat specifically for gaming.
In Speakeasy, users must get the AI character to say a specific word without using five restricted words. For instance, making the bot say “croissant” without using words like pastry, butter, bake, French, or flaky adds a fun twist to the challenge.
This feature is designed to make interactions more creative and interactive, offering users a unique way to engage with their favorite characters beyond traditional conversations. The initiative reflects Character AI’s ongoing commitment to enhancing user experience on the platform.
