As a Solutions Architect at AWS, you will work closely with both customers and internal teams to map business needs to technical solutions. You will architect scalable, cost-effective, and highly available solutions, while influencing customers’ long-term cloud adoption strategies.
The ideal candidate will have experience in architecting complex systems, hands-on expertise with AWS technologies, and the ability to drive innovation and solve complex business problems. A passion for technology, leadership, and customer success is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Engagement. Own the technical engagement with AWS customers, guiding them in architecting, designing, and deploying IT systems that scale. Develop a deep understanding of customer needs and align AWS solutions with their business requirements.
- Architecture & Design. Design and implement scalable and secure cloud architectures, considering factors such as availability, disaster recovery, and cost optimization. Guide customers in choosing the right design patterns and technologies to meet their objectives (e.g., microservices, serverless, real-time data processing).
- Technical Leadership. Drive architectural best practices and help customers navigate technical challenges. Provide hands-on assistance in creating proof of concepts (PoCs) and demos for emerging technologies.
- Collaboration & Evangelism. Partner with AWS Service teams to influence product development, suggest new features, and share feedback on customer needs. Evangelize AWS best practices through customer-facing presentations, workshops, and events.
- Cloud Migration & Optimization. Advise customers on best practices for migrating legacy systems to the cloud, optimizing performance, and reducing costs through the effective use of AWS services.
- DevOps & Automation. Assist customers in setting up DevOps pipelines, automation, and monitoring systems to streamline their workflows and improve observability.
- Industry Expertise. Leverage industry knowledge to guide customers in the media, entertainment, and gaming sectors, helping them innovate and scale digital content, interactive experiences, and gaming services.
- Thought Leadership. Contribute to the AWS community by publishing blog posts, speaking at conferences, and participating in open-source initiatives.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience. 9+ years of experience in IT solutions design, implementation, and deployment. At least 4 years as a solutions architect with a focus on large-scale systems.
- AWS or Cloud Platform Expertise. 2+ years of experience in architecting, migrating, and operating solutions built on AWS (or another cloud platform), with a deep understanding of AWS services and design patterns (e.g., microservices, n-tier, stateful/stateless).
- Technical Expertise. Proficiency in open-source programming languages and frameworks, container technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), DevOps tools, databases (RDBMS, NoSQL, Graph), and Big Data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hive, Presto).
- Distributed Systems & Security. Strong understanding of distributed systems, infrastructure, observability, security, network protocols, load balancing, and content delivery networks (CDNs).
- Communication Skills. Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to interact with senior executives and technical teams, both internally and with customers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education. Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- AWS Certifications. AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional certification (or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Industry Expertise. Experience in media processing, transcoding, digital user engagement, mobile development, or gaming is a plus.
- Thought Leadership. Contributions to open-source projects, tech blogs, or industry forums will be considered a strong plus.
