As a Software Engineer on the Payments team at Google, you will contribute to developing technologies that simplify and secure online payment processes. Your work will impact how billions of users interact with payment solutions across various platforms, including Google Pay and other consumer payment technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Software Development. Write efficient, maintainable code for product or system development.
- Design Collaboration. Participate in or lead design reviews, collaborating with peers and stakeholders to evaluate and select the best technologies for projects.
- Code Review. Review and provide constructive feedback on code written by other developers, ensuring adherence to best practices such as coding standards, accuracy, testability, and efficiency.
- Documentation Contribution. Create and update documentation and educational content based on product changes and user feedback.
- Issue Triage and Debugging. Identify, analyze, and resolve product or system issues, considering their impact on hardware, network, and service operations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 1 year of software development experience in programming languages such as Python, C, C++, Java, or JavaScript.
- 1 year of experience with data structures and algorithms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education. Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
Experience
- 1 year of experience with front-end frameworks, full-stack development, and/or API development.
- Familiarity with developing accessible technologies.
