As a senior engineering leader at LinkedIn, you will play a critical role in shaping the company’s technology roadmap and driving impactful changes in product development. You will lead a large engineering team, ensuring high-performance and career development while contributing to the design, architecture, and coding of major LinkedIn products. Responsibilities
- Manage the performance, career growth, and development of a large engineering team, including engineers and managers.
- Foster a culture of innovation, craftsmanship, and collaboration across teams.
- Own significant parts of LinkedIn’s products, driving the design and architecture of solutions that scale for the growing Indian market.
- Make architectural trade-offs, lead distributed application scaling efforts, and ensure the overall quality and speed of product delivery.
- Work closely with senior leadership to contribute to the development of a long-term technology roadmap.
- Coordinate across teams to support a shared technical stack and ensure product consistency.
- Oversee the creation of high-quality software, ensuring it is unit tested, reviewed, and integrated regularly.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and cross-functional teams to align on technical goals, roadmaps, and deliverables that drive a significant impact on LinkedIn products.
- Serve as a role model and professional coach, encouraging engineers and managers to grow and improve their technical and leadership skills.
- Work with the recruiting team to hire top engineering talent and build strong, capable teams.
Basic Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science or a related technical field.
Experience
- 12+ years of relevant engineering experience.
- 4+ years of hands-on technical management experience.
Technical Skills
- Expertise in software design and coding with proficiency in languages like Java and C++.
- Proven experience leading large-scale, production-grade systems.
- Strong track record of successful deliveries, scaling distributed systems, and making architectural decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in managing small to medium-sized engineering teams and demonstrating growth.
- A successful track record in coaching, mentoring, and developing team members in their careers.
Cross-Functional Partnerships
- Experience working with multiple teams across the organization and building strong cross-functional relationships.
- Actively contributed to the creation and execution of technical strategies and roadmaps, aligning engineering and product goals.
- Actively partnered with recruiting teams to hire exceptional engineers and build successful engineering teams.
