As a Senior Product Designer - Platform, you will play a key role in designing and shaping the platform-level products that power PhonePe’s ecosystem. Your work will be pivotal in building intuitive, scalable, and robust designs that drive PhonePe’s growth and ensure the seamless experience of millions of users and merchants.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Design Ownership. Lead the design process from conceptualization to delivery. Understand the problem, create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs. Ensure that your designs align with business goals and technical constraints.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration. Work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and CX teams to ensure seamless implementation of designs that align with PhonePe’s mission and strategy.
- System Thinking & Scalability. Design complex platforms with a focus on system-level design and scalability. Ensure that designs are consistent and effective across multiple touchpoints and user journeys.
- Research & Insights. Conduct user research and usability testing to gather valuable insights. Use this data to refine your designs and improve user experience. Be comfortable making decisions in ambiguous situations and adjusting designs as needed.
- Design Innovation. Continuously experiment with new design patterns, tools, and methodologies to push the envelope on user experience. Encourage innovation and creativity within your design process.
- Data-Driven Design. Leverage data from user feedback, analytics, and testing to refine designs. Monitor design performance and iterate quickly to improve engagement and satisfaction.
- Leadership & Mentorship. Provide design leadership within your team, driving the UX vision and influencing change across various product teams. Mentor junior designers and foster a collaborative, learning-focused design culture.
Qualifications & Skills
- SaaS Platform Design Experience. Extensive experience designing for complex SaaS platforms, especially those involving multiple integrations and stakeholders.
- System Thinking. Ability to design products with a deep understanding of systems, ensuring scalability and coherence across different touchpoints and user journeys.
- Design Tools Expertise. Proficiency with tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, and tools for creating micro-interactions such as Principle, AfterEffects, and ProtoPie.
- Leadership Skills. Experience leading design initiatives and working across cross-functional teams to drive a unified product vision. Comfortable influencing product strategy and collaborating on high-level business decisions.
- Research Expertise. Ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative research independently, and use insights to inform and iterate designs.
- Product Design Portfolio. A strong portfolio that showcases your end-to-end product design experience, particularly for SaaS products.
- Collaboration. A collaborative mindset with the ability to work seamlessly with Product, Engineering, Business, and CX teams to create the best solutions for the product and users.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Computer Science Background. Familiarity with platform design from a technical perspective, helping you communicate effectively with developers and understand product feasibility.
- 0-1 SaaS Product Experience. Experience building products from scratch, especially in the platform domain.
- Design Systems Expertise. Strong knowledge of design systems and ensuring their implementation for consistency and scalability across large teams and platforms.
- FinTech Experience. While not a requirement, experience designing for FinTech products or platforms would be highly beneficial.
- Start-Up & Enterprise Experience. Familiarity working in both startup and enterprise environments will be an asset, helping you adapt to different design challenges and workflows.
