Job Description

Infosys is seeking a skilled Oracle Developer to join our team. As an Oracle Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Oracle-based applications, specifically using Oracle Forms and Reports (D2K). The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in PL/SQL, database design, optimization, and tuning, and experience working with various Oracle Database versions (11g, 12c, 18c, 19c). Additionally, you will play a key role in debugging and optimizing queries and procedures, as well as creating tables, views, triggers, and stored procedures/packages.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Oracle Forms & Reports Development. Design, develop, and maintain Oracle Forms and Reports (D2K), ensuring robust functionality and performance. Experience with Oracle Forms 12c and Reports 12c is highly preferred.
  2. PL/SQL Development. Write complex PL/SQL scripts, procedures, functions, triggers, and packages. Optimize and tune PL/SQL queries to ensure high performance and efficiency.
  3. Database Design & Optimization. Engage in database design activities, including the creation of tables, views, stored procedures, triggers, and functions. Optimize queries and stored procedures for maximum performance and scalability.
  4. Debugging & Troubleshooting. Utilize SQL Navigator, Toad, or similar tools to troubleshoot and debug complex database issues. Provide effective solutions to resolve performance and functionality issues.
  5. Integration & Web Technologies. Leverage your knowledge of WebLogic Application Server and experience with Java, JSP, JavaScript, HTML, and XML to integrate Oracle-based applications into web-based environments.
  6. Collaboration & Communication. Work closely with functional teams, business analysts, and other development teams to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions. Collaborate with other resources to meet project timelines and requirements.
  7. Version Control & Code Management. Understand and implement code repository strategies and code promotion processes using Team Foundation Server or similar source control tools.
  8. Testing & Documentation. Review and ensure that all components of the solution are thoroughly tested and meet functional requirements. Maintain proper documentation for all development work, including design specifications and code reviews.
  9. Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing. Provide mentorship to junior developers and team members, guiding them in best practices for development and troubleshooting.

Required Skills & Qualifications

2-3 Years of Experience

  • Experience with Oracle Forms and Reports (D2K) development.
  • Proficient in PL/SQL techniques using Oracle 11g, 12c, 18c, and 19c databases.
  • Hands-on experience with database development tools like Toad or SQL Navigator.
  • Knowledge of Database Design, including the creation and optimization of queries, stored procedures, packages, triggers, and functions.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with business stakeholders and development teams.

3-5 Years of Experience

  • Extensive experience with Oracle Forms and Reports (D2K) and PL/SQL development.
  • Advanced debugging skills using tools like SQL Navigator or Toad.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle Developer using Object Libraries and Templates (preferably in Oracle Forms and Reports 12c).
  • Familiarity with WebLogic Application Server and developing in a WebLogic environment.
  • Proficient in Java, JSP, JavaScript, and web technologies such as HTML and XML.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with experience in code version control and code promotion strategies.

5-9 Years of Experience

  • Strong expertise in Oracle Forms and Reports (D2K), with hands-on experience in Oracle SQL*Loader, Oracle SQL Developer, and Java/Web technologies (HTML, XML, JSP, JavaScript).
  • Experience with advanced PL/SQL techniques for optimization and query tuning.
  • Experience with WebLogic Application Server and deploying Oracle Forms and Reports in a WebLogic environment.
  • Understanding of code repository strategies and the ability to work with Team Foundation Server or similar version control systems.

9+ Years of Experience

  • Extensive experience as an Oracle Forms and Reports developer with proficiency in Oracle SQL*Loader, Oracle SQL Developer, Java, and Web technologies.
  • Advanced skills in PL/SQL development, including optimization, query tuning, and designing complex database structures.
  • In-depth experience working with WebLogic Application Server and developing Oracle-based applications in a WebLogic environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and lead development efforts.

Desired Skills & Competencies

  • Knowledge of modern software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum).
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies or familiarity with Oracle's cloud offerings is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues across the Oracle stack.
