As a Lead Product Engineer at Siemens EDA, you will be at the forefront of developing and enhancing our software products, particularly in the realm of Physical Design. You will work on sophisticated projects, influencing the technical direction of our product offerings and providing high-level technical expertise and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Development. Design, develop, modify, and implement software solutions with a focus on exceeding customer expectations.
- Technical Leadership. Act as the technical lead for major projects, guiding the development and implementation of software designs and systems.
- Customer Collaboration. Engage with customers to address complex problems, provide solutions, and gather feedback for future upgrades and products.
- Innovation. Introduce new technologies and methodologies to enhance product capabilities and drive innovation.
- Problem Resolution. Provide high-level technical support and problem resolution, utilizing extensive knowledge of software systems and applications.
- Team Guidance. Mentor and guide junior engineers, promoting technical excellence and innovation within the team.
What You'll Do
- Design Expertise. Work on advanced 7nm and 5nm designs, focusing on place and route tools such as Aprisa.
- Flow Development. Develop methodologies for placement, clock tree synthesis (CTS), and routing to achieve optimal performance, area, and power targets.
- Customer Support. Solve critical design issues for customers and provide training and technical support on the use of Aprisa tools.
Required Skills and Experience
- Experience. Proven 10+ years of experience in Physical Design with mainstream place and route (P&R) tools.
- Technical Expertise. Deep understanding of Physical Design processes including floorplanning, placement, CTS, and routing. Hands-on experience with tools like Synopsys ICC2, Cadence Innovus, or Aprisa.
- Project Experience. Experience with tape-out of at least two projects, and proficiency in managing complex designs with multiple voltage islands and top-level floor planning.
- Problem-Solving. Strong ability to address timing, power, and area trade-offs, with excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Communication. Effective verbal and written communication skills, with strong presentation abilities.
Educational Qualifications
- Required. BE/B.Tech in Electronics and Communication, Electrical Engineering, or Telecom Engineering.
- Preferred. ME/M.Tech in VLSI or Microelectronics.
