The Supply Planner will be pivotal in managing the supply-demand balance, ensuring optimal cost management, meeting customer service goals, and minimizing inventory while prioritizing shipping and mitigating shortages. This role involves close collaboration with commercial teams, business groups, and supply chain/factory teams to achieve business and financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Scheduling. Create and maintain production schedules based on capacity plans, material constraints, and demand inputs.
- Capacity Review. Lead the World Wide Capacity Review process with JDM/ODM partners.
- Statistical Modeling. Build statistical models to forecast safety stock requirements, capacity needs, and other critical parameters.
- Inventory Analysis. Analyze factors such as seasonality and promotions to build robust inventory models and adapt to changes.
- Advanced Analytics. Apply advanced analytics to define inventory planning parameters and policies.
- Trade-Off Analysis. Evaluate trade-offs between inventory, air freight, and capacity to make informed decisions and recommendations.
- Inventory Monitoring. Monitor inventory levels to meet demand while avoiding overstocking.
- Supply Chain Data. Analyze and suggest modifications to supply chain master data, including safety stock settings, lead times, and sourcing strategies.
- Allocation Planning. Develop allocation plans to optimize constrained availability against prioritized demands.
- Tool Development. Create and refine tools to support ongoing business operations.
- Decision-Making. Demonstrate strong decision-making capabilities in situations with incomplete or uncertain information.
Key Qualifications
- Education. Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Experience. 4-6 years of experience in supply chain planning and participation in S&OP processes.
- Skills. Proficiency in end-to-end supply chain planning, planning tools, and material planning processes (e.g., MRP, Simulation, Product BOMs, Safety stock theory, Inventory management).
- ERP Systems. Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP.
- Technical Skills. Working knowledge of SQL/Python and BI reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
- Communication. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
