We are seeking a highly skilled Front End Engineering Manager to lead the development of the front end for Google Cloud Backup and Disaster Recovery (GCBDR). This role involves managing a team of engineers, overseeing large-scale projects, and collaborating with various stakeholders to create exceptional user experiences. As a manager, you will also play a key role in shaping product strategy and ensuring the successful deployment of features.
Responsibilities
- Team Leadership. Manage and mentor a team of 9-12 engineers, guiding them in the development of full-stack features and admin experiences for GCBDR. Foster career development and handle performance management for your team members.
- Front-End Development. Lead the development of front-end components, ensuring a high-quality user experience for both UI and console-based interactions. Oversee the implementation of responsive, scalable, and elegant web applications.
- Collaboration. Work closely with UX designers, UX researchers, program management, and partner engineering teams to deliver a seamless and high-quality experience for GCBDR customers.
- Process Improvement. Introduce and implement best practices and processes to scale the Admin Experience team effectively. Optimize workflows and enhance development practices.
- Project Management. Oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites, managing project goals and contributing to product strategy.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience. 8 years of experience in software development with proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, C, C++, Java, or JavaScript.
- Technical Leadership. 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role with 2 years in a people management role.
- Front-End Frameworks. Experience with front-end frameworks such as AngularJS or ReactJS.
Preferred Qualifications
- Cloud Technologies. Experience with cloud technologies and applications.
- Technical Skills. Proficiency in Java, TypeScript, and Angular.
- Communication. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Passion. Strong enthusiasm for designing, building, and optimizing responsive web applications.
