Job Description

As a DevOps Engineer at Wipro, you will be responsible for optimizing and automating processes across the software development lifecycle. You will play a key role in enabling efficient Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD), improving collaboration between development, operations, and testing teams, and ensuring smooth software delivery. Your expertise in DevOps tools and cloud technologies will help drive performance, scalability, and automation across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Align and manage CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless integration and deployment of technology in applications.
  • Plan, implement, and execute the DevOps pipeline that covers the entire software lifecycle from coding, building, testing, and staging to release, configuration, and monitoring.
  • Automate infrastructure and deployment processes to ensure efficient operations and performance.
  • Manage IT infrastructure in alignment with supported software code requirements and scale the systems based on project needs.
  • Onboard applications onto DevOps tools and configure them according to client specifications.
  • Engineer DevOps tools and integrate them into the development workflow to meet client needs and improve efficiency.
  • Work closely with application developers to address code and scripting issues that link various elements of software, operating systems, and production infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure smooth end-to-end CI/CD, deployment, and monitoring processes.:
  • Provide timely support for both internal and external customers on DevOps tools and deployment issues.
  • Troubleshoot, perform root cause analysis and resolve critical, repeatable issues to maintain smooth software deployment.
  • Follow the escalation process to resolve complex issues effectively.
  • Regularly report to DevOps Lead Engineers and Project Managers on progress and challenges.
  • Interact with application owners, release managers, and other stakeholders to drive CI/CD efforts across teams.

Skills & Qualifications

  1. Proficiency in DevOps Tools. Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible.
  2. Cloud Platforms. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud.
  3. Scripting Languages. Shell, Python, Bash.
  4. Version Control & Automation. Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.

Experience

  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience in a DevOps Engineer role or similar.
  • Hands-on experience in automation, continuous integration, and continuous deployment.
  • Experience in managing large-scale infrastructure and working with cloud platforms.

Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills

  • Strong ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues in DevOps environments.
  • Root cause analysis expertise to address repeatable issues and drive continuous improvement.

Soft Skills

  1. Communication Skills. Strong verbal and written communication to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  2. Collaboration. Experience working in cross-functional teams and ensuring smooth integration across operations, development, and testing teams.
  3. Execution Excellence. Strong track record of delivering high-quality outcomes on time.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience with Cloud Infrastructure. Understanding of Cloud-native applications, containerization, and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  2. Knowledge of Agile Methodology. Familiarity with Agile principles, Scrum, or Kanban for project management.
  3. Certifications. Certifications in DevOps, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud are a plus.
