As a Web Administrator at Infogain, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining high-performance web applications and hosting environments. This role involves troubleshooting performance issues, conducting application health checks, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure quick resolutions. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the scalability, availability, and security of our web services, making you an integral part of our operations.
Core Responsibilities
- Web Application Management. Oversee and maintain web application servers to ensure continuous high performance and availability.
- Server Configuration & Management. Configure and manage various web servers, including Apache, Nginx, and IIS, ensuring they are optimized for performance.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting. Monitor server logs, performance metrics, and error reports to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Maintenance & Backups. Perform regular backups, updates, and maintenance tasks to ensure data integrity and system security.
- Collaboration. Work closely with developers to optimize website performance, resolve technical issues, and ensure thorough testing of hosting infrastructure.
- Documentation. Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for hosting infrastructure and procedures.
- On-Call Support. Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours support and incident response.
- Infrastructure Improvement. Contribute to the enhancement of the overall architecture and design of the hosting infrastructure.
- Continuous Learning. Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve hosting and web development practices.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Educational Background. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience. A minimum of 12 years of experience in hosting administration, with strong expertise in Linux/Unix and Windows Server environments.
Technical Proficiency
- Web Servers. Extensive experience with two or more web servers like Apache HTTP Server, Apache Tomcat, Nginx, or IIS.
- Database Management. Proficiency in MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or MS SQL Server.
- Networking Fundamentals. Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, and other networking principles.
- DevOps & CI/CD. Experience with CI/CD tools like Git, Jenkins, SonarQube, and containerization platforms like Kubernetes/OCP.
- Soft Skills. Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication, and effective collaboration skills.
Nice to Have
- Advanced Education. Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Containerization & Cloud Platforms. Experience with containerization using Redhat OpenShift and cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
- DevOps Expertise. Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools such as Jenkins, Ansible.
- Scripting Languages. Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash or PowerShell.
- Project Management. Experience with agile project management tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Certifications. ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent experience is a plus.
