Job Description

American Express is seeking a Data Analyst to support the fast-accelerating GCS business. In this role, you will develop and implement analytical solutions to drive growth and enhance business decision-making processes. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Technology, and Analytics teams.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Analytical Solutions Development. Design and implement data-driven solutions to support the GCS leadership team in making informed decisions.
  2. Trend Analysis. Identify and analyze trends, risks, and opportunities to enhance business strategies and decision-making processes.
  3. Stakeholder Engagement. Collaborate with various business partners to understand requirements and deliver valuable insights.
  4. Sales Support. Manage and optimize sales portfolios to drive organizational growth.
  5. Data Management. Create and maintain next-generation Management Information Systems (MIS) for strategic decision-making.
  6. Advanced Analytics. Utilize advanced analytics techniques (e.g., NLP, clustering, predictive modeling) to support customer targeting and performance analysis.
  7. Cross-Functional Collaboration. Work with multiple teams to deliver insights and manage projects effectively.
  8. Automation Initiatives. Identify and implement automation techniques to improve efficiency in analytical processes.
  9. Communication. Prepare and present clear and compelling narratives in PowerPoint to effectively communicate analysis and recommendations to stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education. Graduate or post-graduate degree in Management, Economics, Statistics, or related fields from a top-tier institution.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in analytics/modeling.
  • 2+ years of experience in data modeling and Management Information Systems (MIS).
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python.
  • Experience with big data tools (e.g., Hive, Yellow Bricks) and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Cornerstone and Lumi is advantageous.
