We are looking for a highly motivated AI Research Engineer/Scientist who will be instrumental in researching, architecting, and developing next-generation telecom infrastructure systems using AI/ML techniques. Your work will play a key role in optimizing network performance, efficiency, and scalability, all while contributing to Intel's strategic vision of shaping the future of telecom systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct pioneering research in AI/ML-driven network systems, with a focus on optimizing 5G/6G networks and private network infrastructures. Prototype and develop advanced network workloads using AI/ML techniques to improve performance, efficiency, and scalability.
- Architect and design next-generation telecom infrastructure systems with an emphasis on AI-driven optimizations. Collaborate with internal and external partners, including industry consortiums and academic institutions, to bring innovative networking systems to life.
- Leverage your expertise in machine learning and deep learning algorithms to optimize complex network workloads. Apply AI/ML frameworks and techniques to enhance network performance, predictive analytics, and decision-making in telecom systems.
- Work closely with internal Intel teams and external partners to align research objectives with real-world challenges. Present findings, research papers, and prototypes at industry conferences and contribute to open-source projects where relevant.
- Focus on packet processing frameworks (e.g., DPDK) and ensure systems are optimized for Intel platform architectures, including virtualization and containerization technologies.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI, network protocols, and telecom technologies. Drive innovation within the lab and across Intel, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the telecom and AI space.
Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering (or Master’s with 5+ years of relevant industry experience).
- Strong experience in system software development with proficiency in C/C++ and Python.
- Solid understanding of AI/ML frameworks and experience implementing machine learning or deep learning algorithms.
- Knowledge of telecom systems, including cellular network architecture and protocols (e.g., 4G, 5G, and beyond).
- Experience with packet processing frameworks like DPDK and familiarity with Intel platform architecture.
- Strong understanding of virtualization, containerization, and distributed systems.
- Ability to work in ambiguous and dynamic technical environments, collaborating with open-source communities and other stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience in 5G/6G network architecture, particularly in private networks and telecom infrastructure.
- Experience with advanced AI/ML algorithms for optimization in networking and telecommunications.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies and experience with cloud-native applications.
- Familiarity with networking protocols and edge computing for AI-powered telecom solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to drive collaborative research across industry and academic partners.
