Windows 8
RTM for everyone, not just subscribers
The final version of Windows 8, that is, Windows 8 RTM (Release
to Manufacturing) was released to developers yesterday, August 15 2012. While
the rest of the world will get it on October 26, 2012, developers can start
using and developing on it right away.
MSDN and TechNet Subscribers can download it by logging into
their account but the other developers who don't have subscriptions nor intend
to buy one (they can be quite expensive to buy) need not feel disappointed.
These developers can download the evaluation version or trial version which is
free for 90 days.
Simulatenously, Microsoft also released the VS 2012 RTM in
full version for MSDN and TechNet Subscribers and as evaluation version or
trial version for others.
