In this blog you will see how to resolve "SharePoint 2010 Timer service stuck on stopping".
Error:
When I was deploying a SharePoint Timer Job, I tried to restart SharePoint 2010 Timer (services.msc) and want to change the log on credentials. Log on credentials will be updated after stopping and starting the service. I changed the log on credentials and then i clicked on stop. It was stuck on Stopping.
How to resolve:
Go to the Windows Task Manager, click on Processes tab. Select "Show processes from all users". Right click on OWSTIMER.EXE and then click on End Process. Now the timer job will be stopped.
