Remove Insecure Password Warning On Firefox

This blog imparts knowledge on Firefox, which has recently launched an update, which says if your site doesn't have HTTPS, it displays a warning on passwords fields.

You may have noticed in Firefox, if you try to login into a Website which doesn't have HTTPS implemented, then you get the message given below.

 

'This connection is not secure. Logins entered here could be compromised. Learn More.'

 

 

 

This can be annoying, expecially when accessing legitimate Web sites or maybe it's one of your own.

Also, not everyone can afford an SSL certificate.

 

The bad news

It cannot be resolved by adding some tags in your HTML or by adding some JavaScript. It is a part of the Browser's logic.

 

The good news

You can remove this message by changing settings in individual Firefox Browsers. (I know! not really good news but still the only solution available).

 

Follow the steps given below.

1. In the Firefox address bar, enter about:config and press enter.
   
   (If you have opened it for the first time, you may get the message given below. )
   
   
   
   * Just be careful not to change any settings, which you are not sure about.
   
   
2. Click I accept the risk 
   
   
3. A huge list of settings opens. In the search, type security.insecure_field_warning.contextual.enabled.
   
   
   
4. Double click on the above preference to change it to false.
5. Restart Firefox for the changes to take the effect.
