How To Desaturate In Photoshop

In this blog, we will learn desaturating in Adobe Photoshop 7.0. We will be using an example of a jewelry advertisement and will create a compelling poster based on desaturating.

The desaturate option makes a colored image black and white instantly. This feature alone creates a pretty gray image, and the image can look intense and powerful.

First, open your Adobe Photoshop 7.0.

Then, open your image.

Go up to the “File” menu at the top of the screen. And choose “Open” or simply use the shortcut key “Ctrl + O”.

Create a “duplicate image”.

Go up to the “Image” menu and choose the “duplicate” option.

Shortcut key - Right-click on the image in the title bar and click the Duplicate option).

Then Go up to the “ Image” menu, choose” Adjustment”, then choose “ Desaturate” shortcut key (Shift+ctrl+U).

Desaturate transforms a colored image into black and white.

Now, your black and white image is ready.

Go up to the toolbar and choose the “Eraser Tool”.

Then select your comfortable “brush size”, and erase the jewelry part.

Save the image

Go up to the” File” menu and choose the “Save” option. Now, it opens a new small window, you just enter the image name, and select the image path, and select image type (I am selecting “png”).

After that click save.

Finally, the image is ready.
