This blog is about Project Server related tasks and functionality, as we will get to use templates in SharePoint. We are configuring this real example and deploying the same.
I have posted all the details and descriptions about the site template, which will come default from Microsoft,

The customer needs a template similar to the existing project, which he wants to deploy to the environment.
Follow the steps given below to create Project site template
- Login to Project PWA site with the administrator login details.
- Go to Project center and select a project which you want to create as a template, or if you have direct project site link you can follow the same.
- In case you don’t have Project site URL, select the project from Project center and click Project site from left side of the page on the Project.
Note
It might be possible that you will get an error that the project site is not yet configured, so we need to configure the project site first.
See the URL to configure Project site for any project on Project online. - Project site needs to be configured or navigated to Project site page.
- Select the site setting option from Gear box (setting page of PWA) in the right side screen on the corner.
- Here, we will get an option called save site as a template from Site action, as shown below.
- After clicking on save as site template, it will ask to enter file Name, Template Name, Description and include content, if you wish.
- File Name
Enter the name for this template file.
- Name and Description
The name and description of this template will be displayed on the Website template picker page when the users create new Websites.
- Include Content
Include content in your template, if you want new Websites created from this template to include the contents of all the lists and document libraries in this Website. Some customizations, such as custom workflows, are present in the template only, if you choose to include the content. Including content can increase the size of your template.
- Click OK. It will create and will be saved to Solution gallery.
Verify by going to the root site. Click site setting and solution under the Web designer Galleries.
Thanks ☺
