Introduction

In this blog, we will go through the step by step process of how we can create a collapsible section in SharePoint Modern Page.

A few important components of collapsible section,

1. It would raise the initial page load time because the webparts within the section would not be loaded until the section is extended, which can improve performance while decreasing initial load times.
2. No need for custom FAQs webpart with the collapsible section. It can be used to display the FAQs in an out-of-the-box way.

Let us understand how we can create collapsible sections in SharePoint Modern Page,

Step 1

Create a Modern SharePoint Page. There are multiple options to create a Modern SharePoint Page but let us navigate to the home page and click on +Add Icon and selection Page as displayed in the image below,

Step 2

Once we create a new Page we can select the template type for our example. We can select Blank but we can use any other templates as well because the collapsible section can work with any template.

Step 3

Once the page is created provide an appropriate name to the page and then click on add new section which would provide us with the selection of section layout. For our example, we can choose one column but the collapsible section works with all section layouts without any limitations.

Step 4

Once the section is added click on the edit section to make the section collapsible from the property pane. Change the Make this section collapsible from Off to On. This will add a section title in the section which we can update. Even we can handle whether the section should be expanded to collapsed by default. We can repeat step 3 and step 4 to setup multiple sections on the page.

Outcome

The final outcome would look as displayed in the image below. This opens up a lot of possibilities with the collapsible section.
