Google+ is growing but who is really using it

I read a lot about how rapidly is Google+ growing but I still yet to identify a person who has quit using Facebook and moved to Google+ instead. I login to my Gmail account and see Google's annoying Circle requests and I ignore them. As a matter of fact, my brain has blocked those images. When there are circle requests on the screen, all I see is black spots Automatically converting users from Gmail to Google+ is not a real conversion. This is Social networking era and it is going to bust soon.

Let's think for a moment. On Twitter, a lot of trend I see is, I follow you, you follow me. So, we are following one another but do we really reading all people who I am following? Facebook just admitted that it has over 83 million fake accounts. That's what they have admitted. What about people who have multiple accounts - One personal, one for business, one for just close friends and one for rest of the bullshit.

Remember Zynga? I remember playing Angry Birds and got addicted to it. So my son. But not anymore. Mobile games craze is done now. May be people are jumping all over these games and social networking communities to feel them out. Unless they provide a real-solution-to-a-real-problem, I don't see them being succeeded for long term. I think this is what Microsoft has an edge over Facebook, Google+, and Twitter.

Microsoft just announced Outlook.com and killed its Hotmail service. I am slowly migrating to Outlook and as a Microsoft developer, it has more long term advantages. I am sure Outlook.com service will run much better in Office Outlook 2013 than Gmail. I am not sure if Outlook will Kill Gmail but I am sold. It is only Preview version and I am already liking it. The only one think I do not like so far is, right side bar ads.

While Outlook.com interface is clean and metro style, the interfaces of its other services (Windows Live, Office 365) are still old fashioned. I am sure Microsoft is working on it. I am seeing more and more Microsoft websites are converting to Metro looks. Microsot.com website is not cleaner and slowly MSDN sections are being converted.

Ok, back to my point of using Google+. So I am really not sure who is really using Google+. I am not. I talk to people, they are not. I have signed up. They have signed up but it's just sitting there. That's about it.

How about you? Do you use Google+?
