Step 1
Create a data. The data is about the monthly collection, as shown below.
Step 2
Now, go to formulas menu and click on "define name".
Now, give a name and select range in "Refers to" selection box. Then, click ok.
We can see the name of selection in the name box. Now, we can use name to use this selection.
Step 3
We calculate sum, max, min, average using the defined name.
Syntax will be =SUM(DEFINED_NAME)
We can set in cell E3," =sum(collection)". Now, what will be the answer?
This will be the output after using defined name. We can use defined name on different sheets with the same selection.
