We will explore the Server manager for Server 2019 using windows 10.
There are two ways we can set up a Windows Admin Center.
- Installing on Server 2019 as Gateway Mode
- Installing on Windows 10 as Desktop Mode
Once ready it will start installing,
You can select an auto-update using Microsoft. We are not doing this as a testing system,
Gateway setting for application and host system
You can always define a port for Site by default when you install on Server OS it uses 443 and for window 10 it uses 6516
Remember the port as you will require the same while accessing the Windows admin using a web browser.
We will use a self-signed SSL certificate for this. Or if you had your company or personal certificate for the system you are using we can give that at the time of installation.
To access the Windows Admin Center
Desktop Mode: Connect to the Windows Admin Center gateway from the same computer on which it's installed (for example, https://localhost:6516)
Gateway Mode: Connect to the Windows Admin Center gateway from a client browser on a different machine (for example, https://servername) for gateway it will ask for username/ password for the server to connect.
