Brief Concepts

What is Media Services in Azure?

  • It helps you to build custom media workflows in the cloud.
  • It’s an end-to-end solution that delivers audio and video virtually on any device anywhere.
  • It offers end-to-end workflow which is very highly scalable in coding, packaging, storing and distribution of media content to a wide range of devices including TV, PC, and mobile devices.

Prerequisites

Read the following article to create an Azure account and for some basic information about Azure to get started.

Implementation – Create a Media Service

Steps to be followed,

  • Open Azure portal and click on the "Add" button. Choose "Media Services" under Web + Mobile category and then, click on "Create".
  • Fill in the details with the name with the creation of Media service.
  • Then, create a storage account and incorporate it into the service. Now, click on “OK”.
  • Then, create the Media Service.
  • See the "All resources" section and check the newly created media service.
Implementation – Upload media asset and access the same.

Steps to be followed.

  • Go to the "Assets" section and click on the "Upload" button.
  • Upload any file. Here, I have selected blank.xslx file.
  • Go to the File section and click "Publish" to publish the .xslx file.
  • Then, add the locator while publishing the URL.
  • Click on the download button and copy the URL from there.
  • As soon as you click on the browser, the "Save As" window pops up to allow you to download the .xslx file.
