Overview
Many times, there is a need to change the sender email address while sending the notification.
In Power Automate, we can see 2 options to send an email and those are as below:
Step 1. Send an email with V3 action - will send the email from ‘[email protected]’ address. It has a ‘Mail’ connection, which is a generic connection to the Power Apps and Power Automate platform.
Important to note: It can only send 100 emails every 24 hours.
Step 2. Send an email (V2) - This action will use the email address with which you have logged in to Power Automate by default.
Steps to change Sender Email address
Below are the steps to change Sender Email address.
Steps 1. The account which you will be using as Sender email should meet criteria mentioned below.
- It should be a Shared Mailbox.
- It should have ‘Send as’ or ‘Send on behalf’ permissions to Mailbox.
Note. Permission can be given from Microsoft 365 Admin center.
Steps 2. In Send an email (V2) , click on Show advance options (this is Power Automate action).
Step 3. Add shared mailbox email address in From (Send as).
Step 4. Run the Power Automate and email notifications will be sent from the new email address which is updated in step 3.
Conclusion
Sender email address can be updated using Send an email (V2) action and having shared mailbox.
