Leadership Challenge 010 - 10 Ways To Have A Better Conversation (Celeste Headlee)

Hello my friends and hope your 2019 is off to a great start!!!

Is anything more important than being able to communicate? This is a great video around having a great conversation. We live in a very diverse world and while we may have many different views, having an engaging conversation is a lost art in the age of smart phones, posting and texting. Here is the list:

Don’t multi-task
Don’t pontificate
Use open-ended questions
Go with the flow
If you don’t know, say you don’t know
Don’t equate your experience with theirs.
Try not to repeat yourself.
Stay out of the weeds.
Be brief.

I love number #3 and would like to add something: allow the other person to fill in all the blanks, don’t offer suggestions as to what the answers could be. Just simply listen.
