A new launch of video page templates in SharePoint Pages and News has empowered authors to craft video-centric content with ease. Whether you’re working in SharePoint or Stream, these templates provide a seamless way to present videos within beautifully customized and branded pages.
Create Engaging video content outside SharePoint
The process begins in the Stream Web App, where a new option under the share dropdown, “Create video news post,” appears.
This is your gateway to crafting a video news post outside of the traditional SharePoint environment.
However, it’s important to note that this option is only accessible for videos stored on SharePoint sites where you have editing permissions.
Customize your video page with ease
Once you’ve selected your video, the template picker allows you to choose the template type, page type, and any related documents to include.
Figure 1 Video metadata, such as the title and description, is copied to the page, so make sure it is up to date.
Remember, video metadata like the title and description will be transferred to your page, so ensure they’re accurate and up-to-date.
Edit and Publish your masterpiece
After making your selections, you’ll be taken to the canvas for editing.
Here, you can edit your video page just like any other SharePoint Page. When you’re satisfied with your creation, publish and share it with the world!
Availability and Preparation
This feature has already been rolled out to Targeted Release customers and will be available to all customers by the end of June.
There’s no preparation needed on your part, but we encourage you to inform your users about this new experience and provide them with examples to kickstart their video page creation journey.
I am looking forward to your feedback and questions in the comments.
