How to Install Kali Linux in Microsoft Hyper V

In this article, I will show you how to install Kali Linux in Microsoft Hyper V using the proper and easiest method.

Benefits of using Kali Linux in Hyper-V: Running Kali Linux within a Hyper-V virtual machine offers several benefits for security professionals and those learning about cybersecurity. These include isolation to prevent accidental damage to the host system, the ability to easily clone and experiment with various Kali configurations, and the convenience of switching between Kali Linux and other operating systems. Hyper-V also provides enhanced performance and scalability, making it a suitable platform for running Kali Linux.

Step 1. On your Hyper V, click new after clicking new click virtual machine.

Step 2. Click next.

Step 3. Give a name to your virtual machine after clicking Next.

Step 4. Click Generation One after clicking Next.

Step 5. Click next.

Step 6. Select your virtual switch and click Next.

Step 7. Reduce the virtual hard disk to 40 GB after clicking Next.

Step 8. Select your downloaded Kali Linux iso file.

Note. Here I am using an iso file downloaded from an online website. I attached a link below.

Step 9. Click next.

Step 10. Click on your created virtual machine, and right-click connect.

Step 11. Click start.

Step 12. Click the graphic install.

Step 13. Select your language after clicking continue.

Step 14. Click continue.

Step 15. Again, click continue.

Step 16. Type your hostname after clicking Next. After it’s asked, type your domain name if you have you can give otherwise click skip.

Step 17. Type your user’s name after clicking continue.

Step 18. Type your password and click continue.

Step 19. Click Use entire disk and click continue.

Note. Keep the default setting and give the next if any are asking while you install.

Step 20. After installing, click continue.

Step 21. Once all installation is finished, click continue.

Step 22. Now you can see our Kali Linux operating system is ready.
