How To Install Coppermine On Azure Portal Using Microsoft Cloud Services

Prerequisites
  • Sign into your Azure Account.
Features of Coppermine

Coppermine is an opensource stack powered Photo Gallery and a one click solution by bitnami. It is secure, multipurpose, and full featured gallery. Coppermine is a platform that could run on the cloud - locally or virtually. If any issues occur, it is capable of automatically fixing that, so basically it is error free.

Now, we can follow the steps to create and configure Coppermine Gallery using Azure portal.

Step 1

Click on the "New" button and search for Coppermine in the "Everything" section. You will be navigated to the market place. Select Coppermine whose publisher must be bitnami.

Step 2

Now, carefully read the Coppermine description and click "Create".

Step 3

Now, in the Coppermine creation wizard, we need to create a Coppermine Virtual Machine.
  1. For this, provide the name for your Coppermine Virtual Machine and select VM disk type as SSD.
  2. Type username and authentication password and select your subscription.
  3. Create a new Resource Group (or) select an existing one.
  4. Select your location and click "OK" button.

Step 4

Choose Virtual Machine size as "DS1_V2 standard" and configuration as "1 core, 3.5 GB RAM, load balancing". Click "Select" to configure the virtual machine size.

Step 5

The next module deals with Storage and Network. The configuration is created automatically. Unless you are pretty sure of what you are doing, don't change the settings here. Just click "OK" button.

Step 6

Then, it displays information about basic configuration and features used for reviewing changes if validation is passed. Check the Summary and click "OK" button.

Step 7

Now, carefully read the license agreement and cost of the Virtual Machine. If agreed, click "Purchase" for Azure Resource.

Step 8

Then, the Azure Management starts creating Virtual Machine, and configuring the Coppermine. It takes up to 5 minutes for the deployment status. Now, you will be able to see an overview of the Virtual Machine, created. Click "Connect" on the Azure Management portal.

Step 9

Now, copy the IP address that is available in pop-up and paste that on a web browser followed by Enter. We have successfully installed Coppermine on Azure portal.
