If you want to switch your default browser from Google Chrome to Microsoft Edge, it's probably not a bad idea to import your browser settings from Chrome to Edge.
Follow the following steps to import your browser settings from Google Chrome to Microsoft Edge.
Step 1
Open Edge and go to the Settings menu.
Step 2 - Select Profiles settings
On Settings, you can view and change all Edge browser settings including profile data, privacy, appearance, startup, tabs, default URL, set default browser, download folder path, and more. The following image shows all available settings in Edge.
Step 3 - Open Profiles Settings
On Profiles settings, you will see all profiles available in your Microsoft Edge browser. Select the profile you would like to change settings of. In my case, I only have one profile and that is my default profile.
Step 4 - Select Import Browser Data
On the following screen, select the Import Browser Data option.
Step 5 - Select Chrome Browser
On the Import from option, you can select a browser you want settings to be imported from. As you can see below, I have Edge Legacy, Internet Explorer, and Google Chrome options.
Step 6 - Select Google Chrome on the above option
As you can see from the below options, you can import all Chrome settings including Bookmarks, Passwords, Personal info, payment info, browsing history, settings, open tabs, and extensions,
On the above screen, select options you would like to import to Edge.
Click the Import button.
Step 7 - Finish
You will see an All done! Dialog.
Click the Done button and you are all done.
