How To Enable Early Access Updates In Dynamics 365 CE Environment

Microsoft Power Platform and customer engagement apps (Dynamics 365 Sales, Dynamics 365 Customer Service, Dynamics 365 Field Service, Dynamics 365 Marketing, and Dynamics 365 Project Service Automation) deliver two major releases per year (April and October) that offer new capabilities and functionality.

Because the major releases include features that affect the user experience, you can opt-in for early access to self-update to the new release, and start testing and validating the new features before they’re automatically enabled for your users.

The early access updates are available for all types of environments, including trial, sandbox, and production. However, the best practice is to enable the updates in trial or sandbox environments before production environments.

In this article, will show you, how to enable the Early Access update in the Dynamics 365 CE 30 days Sandbox Trial Environment.

Follow the below steps for the same.

Step 1 - Login to Power Platform Admin Center (PPAC) Environment with your credentials.

Step 2 - Click on the Environments, and click on the required environment.

Step 3 - Click on Settings.

As you see, Early access update are turned Off.

Step 4 - Click on Manage.

Step 5 - Click on Update now.

Step 6 - Click on Confirm.

Update is in progress.

Updates are getting Activated and this will take some hours of time.

Now, Early access updates are On.

Note:

1. All available updates to your environment will be initiated at once.
2. After they’re enabled, the updates can’t be reverted. Be sure to update your sandbox or trial environment before updating the production environment.
3. Only the apps that you currently have licenses for will be updated; no new apps will be installed.
4. It might take a few hours to complete the updates. All applications in the environment will still be available during the update, though you might experience slightly reduced performance.
