Windows 11 has a new user interface and new Settings app. You can enable and disable Bluetooth in Windows 11 Settings app.
The quickest way to get to the Bluetooth settings is click on your WiFi or Volume icon on the Taskbar. This will popup this quick Settings windows.
As you can see from these Windows, you can enable and disable WiFi, Bluetooth, Airplane mode, Battery Saver, Focus assist, screen brightness, and volume. As you can see from my settings, currently Bluetooth is disabled. Anything that is enabled is in blue color. That’s pretty cool.
Clicking or touching the Bluetooth icon enables Bluetooth. If your laptop was already paired and connect to Bluetooth devices, you will see those devices in the list as well as a counter of number of devices currently are paired.
How to Pair a Bluetooth Device on Windows 11
If you want to pair a new Bluetooth enabled device such as a mouse or headphone or pods, you will have to follow the instructions on the device and go to Windows 11 settings to pair it. But before that, you must make sure that the Bluetooth on your Windows 11 device is enabled.
Find Bluetooth in Windows Search box by start typing bluetoo..
You will see Bluetooth and other devices settings. Select that.
You will come to the below screen of the Windows 11 Settings app.
As you can see on the above screen, at the top, you can disable or enable Bluetooth by using On button. You can also see currently paired devices and other Bluetooth related settings.
You can remove an existing paired device by clicking on three dots and select Remove device.
Let me remove HP mouse so I can add it again.
Now to pair a new device, click on Add device button.
This will launch the Add a device wizard. On this screen, select Bluetooth option.
On the next screen, you will see current ready to pair devices. Make sure your Bluetooth device is close by and blinking or use other medium provide by the device manufacturer. In case of my mouse, I click on a tiny button and mouse light starts blinking. That tells me that my device is ready to pair.
Once a device is available and ready to pair, you will see the listing here. Select the device.
The above process will pair a device and you will get this message.
Now you will see your device is ready to go.
