How to Create a Hub and Project on Azure AI Foundry

In our previous article, Azure AI Studio is Now Azure AI Foundry Portal, we explored the exciting transition of Azure AI Studio to Azure AI Foundry and its enhanced features designed to simplify AI development and deployment. In this article, we’ll walk you through the process of creating a Hub and Project in Azure AI Foundry, the foundational steps to building and managing your AI solutions.

What is a Hub in Azure AI Foundry?

A Hub in Azure AI Foundry acts as a centralized space to organize and manage AI projects, datasets, and models. Think of it as the control tower that oversees all AI development activities within your team or organization.

What is a Project in Azure AI Foundry?

A Project is a container within the Hub that allows you to focus on specific AI initiatives. Each project can include datasets, pre-trained or custom models, and other resources needed to develop and deploy AI solutions.

How to Create a Hub?

Access the Azure portal, search for Azure AI Foundry, and select it.

Select Create and then choose Hub.

Select the details for Subscription, Resource Group, and fill in the Hub Name, then click Review + Create.

Once validation passes select Create.

After the deployment is complete, click Go to Resource to navigate to the page shown below.

Now that the Hub has been created, to create a project, you can either select Create Project or Launch Azure AI Foundry as shown in the above image.

How to Create a Project?

• In this case, I will select Create Project.
• You will be directed to the page below. Select Subscription and Resource Group enter the Project Name and click Review + Create.
  
• After the deployment is complete, click Go to Resource to navigate to the page shown below.
• Click Launch Studio.
  
• We have successfully created the Hub and Project and launched the Azure AI Foundry Studio, where the development of AI applications takes place.
