Introduction
In this article, you will evaluate the use of Azure recovery services for backing up and restoring files hosted on Azure virtual machines and on-premises computers.
Prerequisites

Step 1
In the Azure portal, search for and select the Recovery Service Vault
Step 2
Click Create
Step 3
Provide the project instance details then click Review + create
Important: Make sure that you specify the same region into which you deployed virtual machines in the previous task.

When the deployment is complete, click Go to Resource.
Step 5
On the Recovery Services vault blade, in the Settings section, click Properties.
Step 6
Scroll down to Backup Configuration and select Update.
Implement Azure Virtual Machine-level backup
Step 1
Proceed to the next step to configure the backup settings.
Step 2
Create a new backup policy.
Step 3
Scroll down and add a virtual machine.
Step 4
Click Enable backup.
Step 5
Return to the Recovery Services vault blade.
Step 6
In the left pane, under Protected items, click Backup items.
Step 7
Next, select Azure Virtual Machine.
Step 8
Review the Backup Pre-Check and Last Backup Status values, and then select View details.
Step 9
Click Backup now, and then click OK.
