Two-Factor Authentication
Two Factor Authenticator is a security feature that provides us with an extra security layer and keeps our account safe from hackers.
How does it work?
When we enable 2FA, we do not have to input only a user ID and password to log in to the account; apart from that 2FA code or permission is also required.
This other method can be,
- code on your mobile phone
- fingerprint or Device scan
- code generated by an Application device
- Code on your Registered Mobile Phone Number or Mail ID
If I talk about any portal that uses 2FA, there are many such applications, including a different 2FA for Google and Microsoft authenticator for Microsoft, these are just two factors authenticators firewall or an extra layer of security, through which we can keep our accounts safe.
For example there are some applications in which social media Instagram, Facebook, and mail systems Microsoft Outlook and Gmail, are using 2F.
In which we will create a mail ID from Microsoft and apply Microsoft Two Factor Authenticator on it
I had already created a mail ID for Microsoft Outlook, so now we will apply two factor authentication on it. If you do not have a mail ID, then first you will have to create a mail ID for Outlook.
Step 1. This will redirect you to Microsoft's website.

Step 2. Now, we will click on the sign-in option. If it does not have an ID, then we will sign up.

Step 3. Here I am using Microsoft Business ID so I have inputted my email ID and password.

Step 4. As soon as we enter the password, we will see a pop-up with a new window in which we will be asked for authentication.
If you have an authenticator app, then you can use it, otherwise, you can use Microsoft's app.

Step 5. After downloading the app, we will add an account to it, which we will scan the barcode with the help of a scanner and authenticate it in the device.

Step 6. Once the QR code is scanned into the device, you go to the Notification section to fill specific number like this.

Conclusion
By installing two factor authentication, even if a second person knows your password, he cannot login to the site or app without the specific code or your authenticated process. 2 factor is used mostly in banking, government sites and It firms.
