Last week, YouTube came up with enhanced comment system filters and search option for channel owners. If you own a YouTube channel and want to filter comments, then this article and the video would interest you.
YouTube came up with the following new features for YouTube Studio comment section to filter on the basis of,
- Value: Value like search on word basis
- Question: Commentor asked a question in the comment
- Response: Filter comments that have even a single response
- Subscriber Count: Filter comments with Subscriber Count (commentor) at least 1K/10K/100K/1M/10M
- Channel Member: Commentors are Channel Members or not
- Current Subscribers: Comments by current subscribers or not
The same is displayed in the below screenshot for my YouTube channel.
Today, we’re launching new comment search filters in YouTube Studio: This is the top feature request we get from creators, and hope it makes it easier to find and respond to the comments that are most important to you.
To reach the YouTube comment filter options,
Step 1
Go to your YouTube channel and click YouTube Studio (Beta), as marked in the below screenshot.
Step 2
Now, you will reach the YouTube Studio (Beta) section of your YouTube channel.
Step 3
Now, click on the Comments from the left section. On clicking, you will reach the following Comments section.
Step 4
Keep the cursor where you can see FILTER and all the new comment system filters would be visible, as in the below screenshot.

Here’s the description of the filters.
Search (Value)
Value like search on word basis. Let us see an example, wherein we are searching for comments on the basis of a specific text, such as filter the comments with the text “good”,
Above, for Value, set “good” and click “Apply”,
The filtered comments are as follows with text “good” filter,
Contains Question
Commentor asked a question in the comment. Let us see an example, wherein we are selecting the “Contains Question” filter,
Now, all the comments with a question asked by the commentor will get filtered as in the below screenshot.
Current Subscribers (Status)
Comments by current subscribers or not. Let us see an example and set Subscriber Status filter,
Above, on clicking Subscriber Status, it asks for the following filter options to filter comments,
The above will filter only the commentors who are subscribers to my YouTube channel.
Response Status
Filter comments that have even a single response.
Subscriber Count
Filter comments with Subscriber Count (commentor) at least 1K/10K/100K/1M/10M. Let us set the same filter,
On clicking “Subscriber Count” above, the following filters would be visible for Subscriber Count,
The above filters the comments on the basis of the commentor’s YouTube subscribers.
Channel Member
Commentors are Channel Members or not.
