Adding Document Library Web part in SharePoint Online Page
- To insert the Document Library web part into your Site Page, enter edit mode, click on the circled "+" icon, and select the Document Library web part from the list of available options.
- The Document Library Web Part will be added to the page, featuring its default layout and providing editing options such as Move, Edit, Duplicate, and Delete web part. Additionally, it automatically displays the document libraries available on the current SharePoint site. For further customization, access the property pane by clicking on the Edit web part option.
- To display a document library on your SharePoint site page, you can either directly select the desired library or choose it from a drop-down list.
- On click of Edit web part, the property pane on the right side of the screen will be displayed containing the following options:
- Document Library - To display a document library on your SharePoint site page, select the appropriate option from the Document library.
- View - Under the "View" section, you can choose the desired view from the drop-down list, such as "All Documents", to display in the document library on your SharePoint site page.
- Folder - The "Folder" property in the Document Library web part allows for specifying the path or name of a specific folder within the document library to display on the SharePoint site page. Users can enter the folder's path, separated by forward slashes (/), to indicate its location in the hierarchy.
- Size - Various size options such as autosize, small, and medium large are available.
- Option to show/hide command bar and show/hide See all button
- Dynamic filtering - This option enables the content of one list to be adjusted based on the selections made in another list.
- When the command bar is visible, a few other customization options are available in the Document Library namely New, Upload, Edit in grid view, Sync, Export to Excel. Various view options like All Documents, Compact, and tiles are also provided, along with options to create new views, save views, or edit the current view.
- New: The "New" option allows you to create a new document or folder directly in the selected location within the document library.
- Upload: The "Upload" option allows adding new documents or files to the document library by selecting files from your device and uploading them to the chosen location within the library.
- Edit in grid view: "Edit in Grid View" enables switching to a spreadsheet-like interface for bulk edits, updating metadata, or managing document library content in a structured and efficient manner.
- Sync: "Sync" lets you synchronize the document library with your local device, enabling offline access and automatic updates. Changes made locally will sync back to the library when connected.
- Export to Excel: The Export to Excel feature enables saving SharePoint list or document library data in an Excel file format, facilitating data analysis and manipulation.
