Here, I will explain how to use disposition approval workflow in SharePoint 2013.
Introduction
Microsoft has provided so many out of box workflows to manage our lists or libraries etc. Disposition Approval workflow is one of the OOB features in SharePoint 2013.
The Disposition Approval workflow is designed to support records management needs within an organization. It is used to maintain document expiration and retention dates or periods.
It helps the participants in the workflow to decide whether the documents should be retained, edited, or deleted. However, the workflow is intended to be kept only within the Records Center site.
User can manually start the Disposition Approval Workflow on individual documents or items. Disposition Approval Workflow can be used for any list, libraries, and content type on a Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 site. It's used especially for Record Center sites.
Steps for creating and Configuring a Disposition Approval Workflow
Step1
Navigate to the list or library where you want to create the workflow.
Step2
On the list or library view page, select the Add workflow option from the workflow settings drop-down menu on the list or library ribbon tab.
Step3
On the Add workflow page choose the following option .
Where you want to Associate your Workflow ( List, Item, Folder and Content Type )
Add a Workflow associate to above option like list, Item, Folder and Content Type .
Step4
Click on Add a workflow and add the following Information .
Content Type
Workflow
Name of Workflow
It cannot be a name used in any other workflow . Please enter a unique name .
Task List
Create a new task list when workflow started .
History List
Select the history list
Start options
Creating a new item will start this workflow.
Step5
Once you click enter, then a page will appear.

Go to your list and add the item in your list. Here you will see the workflow status .

You can also check your new task list .

If you edit the Item, then you will get a page like .

Once you choose above option and click on OK , then it will again redirect task view page . Next you can check Wokrflow status in your custom List .
Now the TestWorkflow status is showing Completed . You can also created it manually in the above option of the work flow settings .
