In this article, I would like to share the steps to change the SharePoint List/Library URL using SharePoint Designer.

Steps to change the List/Library URL

Using list settings, we can’t change the URL of the List.

Follow the below-listed steps to change the URL of SharePoint List & Libraries.

Note. Make sure that you have installed the SP designer on your machine.

Step 1. Open the SharePoint Designer.

Step 2. Then, click on the “Open Site” option from SP Designer.

Step 3. Provide the URL in the "site name" text box, as shown below.

Step 4. Click on the “Open” button. It will prompt you to the credential page. Provide the site credentials and click the “Sign In” button. The site will open in Designer.

Step 5. Then click on the “All Files” folder from the left navigation.

Step 6. Select the “Lists” folder from all files as shown below.

Step 7. On the “Lists” folder select the list which you want to change the URL.

Here I am selecting “SampleTestList” because I want to rename the URL from “SampleTestList” to “SampleList”.

Step 8. Right-click on the List select the “Rename” option and then provide the name as per your need.

Wait a while, to complete the process.

Step 9. Then go to the site and browse your list from the site contents.

Now you can see your list URL will be changed successfully.
