Introduction
This article explains how to install the Windows Server Update Services in Windows Server 2012.
Step 1. First of all login to your Windows Server 2012 using your Admin Credentials.
Now in Windows Server 2012 on the Desktop you will find an option named Server Manager, click on it to open it.
Now in the Server Manager, "Add or Remove Features" will be available; click on it.
Step 2. Now the Add Roles and Features Wizard will be opened; here, first, some information about the Server Manager will be provided, so here, simply click on the Next Button and move forward.
Now the Wizard will ask you whether you want to add role-based or Desktop Based Features. So here click on the Role Based and then click on the "Next" button.
Step 3. On the next page, you need to select a server from the Server Pool. Since I have only one server, it's selected by default.
Now the Server Roles list will be available. Scroll down to the Windows Server Update Services and select it then click on the "Next" button.
Step 4. If you want to add more features then you can select them, they will be installed along with the Windows Server Update Services.
On the next page, some information about the Windows Server Update Services will be provided, so simply click on the "Next" Button.
Step 5. Now Select the Roll Services that you want installed along with Update Services.
If you want to store Updates in any specific file or folder, then check the option on this page and provide the location; otherwise, uncheck it, and after that, click on the "Next" button.
Now click on the "Install" button so that installation can begin.
