Introduction
In this article you will learn how to assign permission to the remote user for accessing your files and folders.
You can share your files and folders with specific people or can grant permission to all the remote users to access your specific file. You can also restrict the users from accessing your files.
All this can be done by using the following short procedure.
Step 1
First of all select the folder or file you want to grant or revoke permission to access. Right-click on this folder and click on "Share With". Now you can either specify that you don't want to share or you can select to share it with specific people. If you don't want to share it then click on "Nobody". Otherwise click on the second option named "Specific People".
As you click on Specific People, the File Sharing Window will be opened. Here all the users will be shown of which the folder is already shared.
Step 2
If you want to add another person in the list then click on the Drop Down Button from where you can either select to share it with Everyone or you can specify any specific person by clicking on the "Find People" Button.
Now the "Select Users or Groups" page will be opened. Here you must click on the Advanced Button to find the User.
Step 3
On the Next Page you must click on the "Find Now" Button.
Now all the member's will be shown at the bottom of the page in the form of a list. You can select a user of which sharing is to be done.
After selecting the user click on the "OK" button.
Step 4
Now you will see that the details of the user that you selected is shown. Click on "Ok" to Add this User in the list.
Now the user will be added in the list to access your folder. Now you can provide the permission to this user to either just Read from this folder or you can provide the permission to Change it also.
