Microsoft Web Platform Installer is a Great Installer Software For Windows OS

Introduction

The Microsoft Web Platform Installer Gives us many features to use in the Windows OS.

First download the Microsoft Web Platform Installer at: Microsoft Web Platform Installer 5.0.



Then click on Download and run the .exe file.

When you run the .exe file the three tabs Spotlight, Products and Applications will be shown in the software.




1. Spotlight

Spotlight has the Azure related SDK, power tools and command line tools.

And some related to Visual Studio.



Which tools do you want to install in your Windows first? Add Tools then click on the Install button.

2. Products

The Products Tab has a left-side menu for Filter Products as in the following:

1. All
2. Server
3. Frameworks
4. Database
5. Tools
6. Windows Azure

The Server Menu shows all the IIS server related tools, Windows Azure Pack tools and other tools.



The Framework menu shows all the .Net Frameworks, PHP framework, Python framework, Windows Cache Extension for PHP and ASP.Net MVC pack.



Another menu option has database MSSQL and some other tools.

The Applications Tab also has a left-side menu with:

1. All
2. App Frameworks
3. Blogs
4. CMS
5. Ecommerce
6. Forums
7. Galleries
8. Tools
9. Wiki
   
   

The Microsoft Web Platform Installer gives us compatibility to choose any CMS. They will always work.

Like, Wordpress is based on PHP but it can work on .NET Framework and WordPress related website can work on Windows Hosting.
